STORY JAM features six incredible duet storytellers plus musical creations by the extraordinary Ian Maksin!
Join Story Jam for another night of prepared personal stories by six entertaining tellers—Binkey Tolefree, Connor Gorman, Jacoby Cochran, Lily Be, Marya Frankel, and Reba Meshulam—with music by Ian Maksin, innovative cellist.
After each story, renowned musical sensation Ian Maksin will create custom masterpieces on the spot. Breaking all musical boundaries, Ian uses technology and loops to create musical landscapes and improvise over developed themes.
The combination of Duet Stories—which are stories woven in partnership by two talented tellers at once (a concept developed by our friend Sean Wellington of Grit Productions)—and improvised cello compositions, is quite unique.
All performers are talented, diverse, and engaging, and all of the storytellers are established members of the live lit storytelling community. This is another special storytelling event produced by Story Jam.

Artifact Events is a stunning event space in the Ravenswood neighborhood of Chicago. With plenty of nearby restaurants, and a welcoming vibe, Artifacts is an incredible destination for entertainment, stories, music, and gathering with friends.
Story Jam has been spotlighting true, personal stories from a fantastic lineup of divere performers since 2014. Story Jam hosts a monthly show at Artifact Events in Chicago, and a monthly show at Madame Zuzu's in Highland Park, IL. Story Jam also hosts a free monthly open mic called The Cocoon. In addition to the monthly shows, Story Jam teaches storytelling classes, workshops, and training sessions for groups and individuals.
