In this six-week class led by Moth host and Chicago comedian Sonal Aggarwal, we will investigate past experiences and search for unexpected sources of light, laughter, and connection in our storytelling.
Comedy is accessible for everyone. We all laugh in times of joy and sometimes in times of incredible pain and laughter can be a survival tool, an expression of love, a way to connect with your audience, and a source of healing for you and the audience.
In this class, tellers will learn how to give your stories the necessary levity they need to connect with the audience and how to allow your listeners feel with you rather than for you.
Instructor Sonal Aggarwal is Chicago's comedic gem. She is a former international street performer turned emcee turned stand-up comedian/storyteller who is also an actor, writer, and producer. Sonal is a regular host of The Moth and she performs her stand up routine in English and Spanish.
Best serves: storytellers, speakers, and performers who’d like to learn how to be funny and add humor to your presentations, speeches, writing, or stories.
